When I was driving home from school yesterday, I took a little scenic detour in and around Mulvane. As I was exploring, I drove past a horse standing next to the road. Now, I see horses everyday that are standing next to roads and I think nothing of it. Why was this horse standing next to the road so different you ask? Well it was because there was no fence between the horse and the road. The horse was standing in front of a house, in a neighborhood, on the outskirts of Mulvane. I turned my car around and drove past it again to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. As I determined that I was really seeing a horse on the loose, I decided to see if he belonged to the people who lived in the house in which whose yard he was standing in and munching on their grass. I rang the door bell but nobody came to the door. As I was walking back to my car, a dog started barking at me from across the street (he was tied up so I did not fear him). I looked past the dog and lo and behold, horses! As I started to walk to the house that the dog and horses belonged to the back door opened. A man on his cell phone had come to tell his dog to shut up! I yelled, “Is this your horse?” He said, “What?” ” Is this your horse?” I yelled again. “I don’t know, let me look…why, yes it is! Thank ya!” he said. And I said “Ok. I’m sorry!” Why I said that and not “you’re welcome,” I do not know. I pondered that for a while actually.
Anyway, I have to leave for school now.
