Never would have thought it…

2 years ago I would never have thought that I would find myself 15 ft above the ground, on top of a 8-10 foot diameter tank, helping cut a 6 X 3 1/2 foot rectangle out of the top in order to lower a fabricated heat transfer pipe system (the pipes being ones that I cut) into the tank via a fork lift, chains, and a chain hoist. I was wearing a safety harness so that if I fell off the tank then I wouldn’t fall to the ground but only a couple of feet. Craziness I say and I loved every minute of it!!! Great thing is that I get to do it all over again cause we have another tank to do!!!

Good ole Easter Bunny…

On February 26th, I came home from church to find this…

Now, I had gotten home before the rest of the family. I had only come home to change cars cause my mother and I had ridden to church together in her car with the children. She and the kids were riding back home with Papa because I was leaving again, or so I thought, before they were going to be home. However, after seeing this and then proceeding to see what was beyond this mysterious basket, there was NO WAY that I was going to miss my dad’s reaction.

I called my mom and told her to call me when they were almost home. I got my camera and walked up to the entrance of the driveway so I could capture the pricelessness of the moment. My dad did not disappoint…

The above picture is my dad reading a letter, from the Easter Bunny, informing my dad, Pastor Brad, that he had dropped off 2000 plastic Easter eggs that needed to be taken to the church and given to the Children’s Ministries department for the Easter Egg Hunt that would take place on Easter Sunday.

So we followed the colorful trail of Easter eggs…

If you will observe, the Easter Bunny and his helpers took extra time out of their busy schedules to take apart the solid colored eggs and then put different colored tops and bottoms together to make multicolored eggs.

Now…it was unbelievable, shocking, and funny for about 5 minutes…then the realization that all the eggs had to be picked up sunk in and, again, we stared in disbelief…

And so we began to pick them up…one by one…

In the process of picking the eggs up, I discovered that they had also been scattered around the entire pond…

For the Easter Bunny’s helpers…this picture alone should be worth it all!  HAHAHA I know it made my day!

Oh and this one too.

And this one…especially since he missed the target!!!

Another favorite

He finally caught me taking pictures and wasn’t amused. I, however, was very amused!!!

I do not have the picture of all 2000 eggs on this computer but hopefully I will be able to update this at some point with the picture added.

Today is Easter Sunday and the kids at church had a marvelous time running around and picking up the eggs that are now filled with candy.

To the Easter Bunny and his helpers: Thanks for dropping off the eggs and I know its your habit to scatter eggs all around but next year could you please just leave them in large bags on our front porch? Pastor Brad is getting on in years and I don’t think his ole back could take another 3 or 4 hours  of picking up eggs. Plus, I think y’all  value your bunny tails as well.

Happy Easter Everyone!!
